Hi, I am Sharon and I work for the Community Trust as a fundraiser.
I have been involved in many local groups and was previously a Director of the Trust for many years. My early working life was involved around one of my passions - horses! I trained for my British Horse Society Instructors exams at Loch Ness Riding Centre when I left school. I then went onto work in International three day eventing yards before spending some time working and travelling in Australia. On my return, I started work for the department of work and pensions as a benefit advisor to start with in my home town of Fort William and then transferring to Edinburgh.
Moving back to the Highlands 20 years ago, I worked for many years with the Community Company in Fort Augustus where I helped groups get funding and was also involved in fundraising and the delivery of the new medical practice there. I am also still working with the local Community Council and fundraised for the new public toilets which is a current ongoing project.
I am looking forward to working with lots of groups and projects from the Community Action Plan to help make the Communities aspirations a reality.
