Welcome to the Inverfarigaig Forest School Project page.  Each week we intend to give you a regular Thursday update with any news from the team on how projects are progressing.  Some weeks there will be lots of activity, others not so much.  If you have any questions  - or have knowledge and skills you would like to bring to the project please do get in touch with a member of the project team via the button on the right!

Latest update 29th May 2025

The community asset transfer of the Farigaig Forest Classroom and associated land at Inverfarigaig from Forestry Land Scotland has been successfully completed. Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust are delighted to invite you to join us for an afternoon BBQ at the building to celebrate this first step in turning the facility into a vibrant community asset.

The BBQ will burn from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday 3rd June, so please come along, to see the building, hear about the plans to make the building fit for use and cast your vote in our survey for a new name for the building now it has a new lease of life.

Latest update 10th April 2025

I am pleased to announce that the result of the community consultation, on the Inverfarigaig Forest School and associated land, is that the majority of those responding to our requests for feedback want the Trust to purchase the property. The final report is attached to this announcement for your information.

There are still a few steps required before the Trust can complete the purchase but we are hopeful that the legal due diligence and SSE approval will be signed off before the end of May 2025.

Once the purchase is complete we will start the work to make the property usable again, re-open the toilets to the public and explore potential uses of the property with interested parties to understand their requirements and how these can be met.
